How to Craft Sandstone Variants: Black, Orange, and White

Base Sandstone Blocks

Black Sandstone is crafted from Black Sand. Orange Sandstone and White Sandstone follow the same shaped recipe using their respective sand. Once you have the base block, you can craft the decorative variants.

Cut, Chiseled, and Slab Variants

From Black Sandstone you can craft Cut Black Sandstone and Chiseled Black Sandstone. Cut Black Sandstone also crafts into Cut Black Sandstone Slab. Black Sandstone itself crafts into Black Sandstone Slab, Black Sandstone Stairs, and Black Sandstone Wall. The same pattern applies to the orange and white families: Cut Orange Sandstone, Chiseled Orange Sandstone, and Cut Orange Sandstone Slab from Orange Sandstone; Cut White Sandstone, Chiseled White Sandstone, and Cut White Sandstone Slab from White Sandstone.

Building with the Sandstone Family

Use the base block for large flat surfaces, Cut variants for clean paneling, and Chiseled variants as a focal pattern on walls or floors. Slabs, Stairs, and Walls let you shape edges and corners. Because each color family is independent, gather the matching sand first — Black Sand for the black set — then process it into the base block before crafting the cut, chiseled, slab, stair, and wall pieces you need. Chiseled Orpiment and Chiseled Sphalerite are separate decorative blocks and are not part of these sandstone recipes.
