Working With Illunite and Budding Illunite

Finding and Mining Illunite

Budding Illunite grows Block of Illunite and the crystal buds Blue Bud and Brown Bud. Mine the buds and the full block with a pickaxe. Budding Illunite itself should be collected carefully, since it is the source block that regrows the buds around it.

Growing Buds

Place Budding Illunite on a solid surface and leave space on its faces. Over time it grows Blue Bud and Brown Bud on adjacent blocks. Harvest the buds when they reach full size, then let the budding block produce more. Keep the area lit and clear so you can see the buds as they appear.

Using the Blocks

Block of Illunite is a decorative light source. Combine it with Blighted Cobblestone, Blighted Stone Bricks, and their slab, stair, and wall variants to build glowing underground rooms. The Blue Bud and Brown Bud can be placed as small decorative crystals on floors and walls.

Farm Layout

Set up a row of Budding Illunite blocks with a gap between each so buds have room to grow. Mine only the mature buds and leave the budding blocks in place to keep the farm running indefinitely.
