How to Craft and Use the Altar

The Altar is the centerpiece block for ritual crafting in Biome Makeover. Place it on solid ground where you have room to stand around it.

Crafting the Altar

Combine a Cladding Upgrade Smithing Template with a Block of Crude Cladding and a Block of Illunite at a smithing table to produce the Altar. Gather Illunite by mining Budding Illunite, which grows Blue Bud and Brown Bud clusters nearby. Crude Cladding is crafted into its block form before use.

Using the Altar

Once placed, the Altar accepts offerings. Hold the required item and interact with the Altar to deposit it. The Altar is tied to the Adjudicator Tapestry and the enchanted totem progression — the Adjudicator Tapestry is a decorative wall hanging you can craft and place near the Altar to mark the ritual site. Bottle o' Lightning, obtained by capturing lightning, is a key offering item used in Altar rituals.

Keep Budding Illunite close so you have a steady supply of Blue Bud and Brown Bud for repeated rituals. Surround the Altar with Black Tapestry, Blue Tapestry, Brown Tapestry, or the Adjudicator Tapestry to build a themed ritual room. The Altar works as a standalone block — no multiblock structure is required, so you can set it up anywhere you can place a full block.
