How to Build and Use the Altar

Crafting the Altar

Place the Altar as a focal block for your base. It is a standalone block, so once you have it in your inventory, set it down where you want your ritual or decoration area to be. Surround it with blocks from the same material family to keep the build cohesive: Ancient Oak Planks, Ancient Oak Wood, Blighted Balsa Planks, or Blighted Balsa Wood all work as framing. For a stone look, use Blighted Stone Bricks, Blighted Cobblestone, or Cladded Stone.

Using the Altar

Interact with the Altar by right-clicking it. Keep the area around it clear of other interactive blocks so you do not misclick. If you are building a themed room, pair the Altar with matching stairs and slabs: Ancient Oak Stairs, Ancient Oak Slab, Blighted Balsa Stairs, Blighted Balsa Slab, Blighted Stone Brick Stairs, or Blighted Stone Brick Slab. Light the space with a Block of Illunite, which also fits the dark stone palette. For storage nearby, place a chest variant such as an Ancient Oak Boat with Chest or a Blighted Balsa Boat with Chest only if you are near water; otherwise use standard chests. The Altar is the centerpiece, so build outward from it: floor first, then walls, then lighting. If you want a weathered look, mix in Cracked Bricks or Cracked Dried Peat Bricks around the base.
