Smelting and Blasting Ores into Ingots

Which Ores You Will Find

Each celestial body has its own ore set. The Moon has Moon Desh Ore and Moon Cheese Ore. Mars has Mars Iron Ore, Mars Ostrum Ore, Mars Diamond Ore, and Mars Ice Shard Ore. Mercury has Mercury Iron Ore. Glacio has Glacio Iron Ore, Glacio Copper Ore, Glacio Coal Ore, Glacio Lapis Lazuli Ore, and Glacio Ice Shard Ore.

Smelting in a Furnace

Place raw ore in a furnace with any fuel to produce the matching ingot or item. Moon Desh Ore smelts into Desh Ingot. Mars Ostrum Ore smelts into Ostrum Ingot. Mars Iron Ore and Mercury Iron Ore smelt into Iron Ingot. Glacio Copper Ore smelts into Copper Ingot. Glacio Coal Ore smelts into Coal. Glacio Ice Shard Ore and Mars Ice Shard Ore smelt into Ice Shard. Moon Cheese Ore smelts into Cheese.

Blasting for Speed

Use a blast furnace to halve smelting time on the same ores. Blasting is ideal when you are processing a full stack of Mars Iron Ore or Moon Desh Ore before a launch.

Storing Ingots

Convert surplus ingots into nuggets only when a recipe calls for them. Otherwise keep full ingots, since the Compressor and NASA Workbench both consume ingots rather than nuggets.
