Refining Fuel with the Fuel Refinery

Placing the Refinery

Set the Fuel Refinery on a flat surface near your Compressor. It consumes Fuel Buckets and outputs Fuel, which is the liquid that powers engines and the Jet Suit. Keep a Fuel Bucket in your inventory before you start.

Running a Batch

Insert a Fuel Bucket into the refinery's input slot. The machine processes it into Fuel, which you can then draw into empty buckets or pipe into a Calorite Tank or Desh Tank. A single bucket yields enough Fuel to top off a small engine run.

Storing and Moving Fuel

Fuel is best kept in a Calorite Tank or Desh Tank rather than loose buckets. Place the tank adjacent to the refinery output so it fills automatically. If you are travelling, carry a Fuel Bucket instead of a tank; buckets stack and are lighter.

Powering Engines

Fuel feeds Calorite Engines and Desh Engines. A Calorite Engine accepts Fuel directly and drives the Engine Fan and Engine Frame assembly. A Desh Engine uses the same Fuel but produces more thrust for larger rockets. Always refine a full batch before launching so you are not stranded mid-flight.
