How to Build and Fuel a Coal Generator

Crafting the Generator

Place a Coal Generator to start producing energy. Feed it coal or charcoal; it burns fuel to output power for machines such as the Compressor, Fuel Refinery, and Oxygen Loader.

Supporting Machines

Run the generator next to the machines you want powered. The Compressor processes raw materials, the Fuel Refinery turns fuel into rocket propellant, and the Oxygen Loader fills Oxygen Tanks. Keep a stock of coal on hand so the generator does not stall mid-process.

Lighting and Backup

If you only need light, craft a Coal Torch or Coal Lantern instead of running a full generator. These give off light without consuming fuel continuously. For larger bases, place multiple Coal Generators so one can be refuelled while the others keep running.

Powering the NASA Workbench

The §dNASA Workbench is where rocket parts are assembled. Keep it connected to a running generator so you can craft Rocket Fins, Rocket Nose Cones, and Engines without interruption. Once your generator is stable, move on to building the Rocket Launch Pad and assembling a full rocket.
