Freezing, Slowing, and Trapping Opponents

Freeze Snowballs

Throw a Freezing Snowball or Frozen Snowball to apply a chill effect that slows movement. The Critical Frozen Snowball deals extra damage on a critical hit and extends the freeze. The Powder Snowball mimics powder snow, causing the target to sink and slow dramatically.

Ice and Trap Tools

• Ice Skates — let you move quickly across ice and frozen ground.
• Snow Fall Boots — prevent you from sinking into powder snow and reduce fall damage on snow.
• Snow Trap Setter — places a hidden trap that triggers when stepped on.
• Icicle Snowball — drops icicles on impact, damaging anything below.
• Ice Snowball — leaves a patch of ice where it lands.

Combining Effects

Hit a target with a Freezing Snowball first, then follow with a Heavy Player Tracking Snowball to keep pressure on while they are slowed. Use the Repulsive Field Generator to push enemies away from a chokepoint, then trap them with the Snow Trap Setter. The Monster Gravity Snowball and Projectile Gravity Snowball pull targets toward the impact point, holding them in place for follow-up hits.

Defensive Use

Carry Milk Popsicle or Popsicle to clear status effects on yourself, including freeze and slow. The Vodka item also removes certain negative effects. Keep Ice Skates equipped in snowy biomes so you can retreat across frozen water while pursuers without them struggle.
