How to Smelt with a Basalt Furnace and Blackstone Furnace

Building the Furnace

Craft a Basalt Furnace from Basalt Bricks, or a Blackstone Furnace from Blackstone. Both function as standard furnaces, so place one down and open it to load fuel and input like any vanilla furnace.

What to Smelt

Use smelting recipes to process the mod's raw materials into usable blocks. Smelting is one of the recipe types present, alongside blasting, so ore-style inputs and stone inputs can be cooked down. Blasting recipes also exist, meaning some inputs process faster in a blast furnace setup if you build one from the same Basalt or Blackstone base.

Fuel and Output

Feed the furnace with any burnable fuel you already carry. Insert the raw item in the top slot and fuel in the bottom slot. Collect the finished product from the output slot. Because Basalt Bricks and Blackstone are both craftable from their respective stone families, you can build multiple furnaces and run parallel smelting lines for bulk processing of Nether materials.

Practical Setup

Place your Basalt Furnace or Blackstone Furnace next to a Cincinnasite Anvil and a crafting table so you can move straight from smelting into smithing_transform recipes. Keep a stack of fuel beside the furnace and a chest for outputs. This keeps a single workstation compact for processing the mod's stone and metal items without running back and forth.
