Smelting and Blasting Metal Chunks into Ingots

Where Chunks Come From

Diving and mining yield metal chunks: Copper Chunk, Iron Chunk, Gold Chunk, Silver Chunk, Lead Chunk, Lithium Chunk, Titanium Chunk, Diamond Chunk, Emerald Chunk, Lapis Chunk, and Redstone Chunk. Chunks are raw material and must be processed before you can craft gear.

Smelting vs Blasting

Both a furnace and a blast furnace process chunks into ingots. Smelting is slower but works in any furnace. Blasting is faster and requires a blast furnace. Use blasting when you have a blast furnace available, and smelting when you do not.

Recipes that produce ingots include:

• Copper Chunk to Copper Ingot
• Iron Chunk to Iron Ingot
• Gold Chunk to Gold Ingot
• Silver Chunk to Silver Ingot
• Lead Chunk to Lead Ingot
• Lithium Chunk to Lithium Ingot
• Titanium Chunk to Titanium Ingot

Diamond Chunk, Emerald Chunk, Lapis Chunk, and Redstone Chunk are processed the same way to recover their respective materials.

Storage Blocks

Once you have nine ingots of a metal, craft them into a storage block: Copper Block, Lead Block, Silver Block, Titanium Block, or Lithium Block. These blocks are compact storage and can be crafted back into ingots when needed. Keep Titanium Block handy because Titanium Ingot is used in almost every diving recipe.
