Reaching the Obsidian Crate from Any Tier

The full path to Obsidian

The §fObsidian crate is the top of the upgrade chain. To reach it, you must pass through §fDiamond crate, because the Obsidian upgrade applies to a §fDiamond crate.

Full step-by-step path:

1. §fWooden crate + Copper upgrade → §fCopper crate

2. §fCopper crate + Tin upgrade → §fTin crate

3. §fTin crate + Iron upgrade → §fIron crate

4. §fIron crate + Golden upgrade → §fGolden crate

5. §fGolden crate + Diamond upgrade → §fDiamond crate

6. §fDiamond crate + Obsidian upgrade → §fObsidian crate

Shortcuts along the way

You can compress steps 2–4 using the combined upgrades. Apply a Copper/Golden upgrade to a §fCopper crate, a Tin/Golden upgrade to a §fTin crate, or an Iron/Golden upgrade to a §fIron crate to land on §fGolden crate directly. From there, the Diamond upgrade and then the Obsidian upgrade finish the job.

Every conversion is a crafting_shaped recipe: put the crate and the correct upgrade into the crafting grid to get the next crate. Keep the upgrade item matched to the crate tier you are holding, or the recipe will not produce the result you want.
