How to Use the Impure Bedrock Upgrade Smithing Template

What the Template Does

The impure bedrock upgrade smithing template lets you apply impure bedrock to existing gear through a smithing transform instead of crafting a new item from scratch. This is the route to take when your current tool, weapon, or armor already has enchantments or a history you want to keep.

Smithing Transform Steps

1. Place a smithing table and open it.

2. Put the impure bedrock upgrade smithing template in the template slot.

3. Put your existing gear in the base slot.

4. Put impure bedrock ingot in the addition slot.

5. Take the transformed result out of the output slot.

The result is the impure bedrock version of that item, carrying over what the original had.

When to Use It vs Crafting

Craft from impure bedrock ingot when you are building a fresh tool, weapon, or armor piece and have no enchantments to preserve. Use the smithing template when the base item is already invested with enchantments, or when you want to convert a piece you are attached to without losing it.

Template Supply

Each transform consumes one impure bedrock upgrade smithing template. If you plan to upgrade several pieces, gather multiple templates first. Keep templates in a separate chest from your ingots so you do not accidentally spend them on shaped crafting recipes.

Block of Impure Bedrock

Once your gear is done, you can also craft a Block of impure bedrock from impure bedrock ingot for storage or building. It is a compact way to hold ingots between crafting sessions.
