How to Craft Impure Bedrock Tools and Weapons

What You Can Build

From impure bedrock ingot you can craft a full set of tools and weapons: impure bedrock pickaxe, impure bedrock axe, impure bedrock shovel, impure bedrock hoe, impure bedrock sword, and impure bedrock spear. Each one uses the shaped crafting recipe for its tool type, with impure bedrock ingot filling the head or blade slots and a handle material in the stick position.

Crafting Steps

1. Bank enough impure bedrock ingot for the tool you want. A pickaxe, axe, shovel, or hoe consumes three ingots; a sword consumes two; a spear uses its own shaped layout.

2. Open a crafting table and lay the ingots out in the standard tool pattern for that item.

3. Place your handle material in the bottom-center slot for pickaxe, axe, shovel, and hoe.

4. Pull the finished tool out of the result slot.

Choosing Your First Tool

Start with the impure bedrock pickaxe. It unlocks faster mining, which feeds more source material back into your scrap-and-ingot loop. Follow with the impure bedrock sword for combat, then the axe and shovel for wood and dirt work. The hoe and spear round out the set once you have spare ingots.

Upgrading Later

If you already have gear you want to keep, the impure bedrock upgrade smithing template lets you apply impure bedrock through a smithing transform instead of crafting from scratch. Keep a template on hand before you commit ingots to a new tool.
