Growing and Harvesting Cypress Trees

Cypress trees supply Cypress Logs, Cypress Leaves, Cypress Saplings, Cypress Branches, Cypress Knees, and Large Cypress Knees. You need a sapling to start.

Planting

Place a Cypress Sapling on dirt or grass and give it room. Cypress trees grow tall and produce Hanging Cypress Leaves that drape from the canopy. Cypress Leaves drop Cypress Saplings when broken, so a single tree can seed a grove.

What Drops From a Tree

Breaking Cypress Leaves yields Cypress Leaves blocks and Cypress Leaf Carpet. Cypress Branches appear on the trunk and can be harvested for decoration. Cypress Knees and Large Cypress Knees generate at the base of the tree — these are the root-like blocks that give the tree its swamp silhouette. Cypress Beehives can generate in the canopy and are a source of honey-related items.

Processing the Harvest

Cypress Logs and Cypress Wood go into sawing to make Cypress Planks, Vertical Cypress Planks, and Stripped Cypress Posts. Cypress Branches and Cypress Knees are decorative on their own. Beard Moss and Beard Moss Block hang from Cypress wood and can be collected for green accents. Replant saplings as you go so the grove keeps producing.
