Improve Visibility in Dark Areas and Caves

Understand Baunilha's Lighting Philosophy

Baunilha Shaders is designed to maintain clear visibility in caves and dark spaces without washing out block textures. Unlike some shaders that brighten everything equally, this shader preserves contrast and detail.

Optimize Your Settings

If caves still feel too dark for your preference, try these adjustments:

  • Increase your preset tier: Move from Low to Medium, or Medium to High. Higher presets include better ambient lighting calculations.
  • Check your monitor brightness: Ensure your display isn't set too low, as shader visibility depends partly on your hardware's output.
  • Use torches strategically: Baunilha's shadows respond realistically to light sources. Place torches to naturally illuminate work areas.

Test Different Environments

Visit deep caves, underground lakes, and dense forests to see how the shader handles various darkness levels. The shader should reveal block details clearly without making caves look artificially bright or washed out. If visibility remains poor after upgrading presets, your system may need a higher-tier graphics card.
