Adjust Lighting Intensity for Your Playstyle
Access Shader Settings
Open the shader options menu while in-game. This is typically found in your video settings under the shader pack section. Look for Basic Lighting Shaders in the active shader list.
Modify Light Levels
Once in the shader settings, you'll find sliders and toggles that control how bright sunlight and moonlight appear in your world. Increase values if caves feel too dark or if you want more dramatic daytime shadows. Decrease them if the lighting feels washed out or if you prefer a gentler visual style.
Fine-Tune Shadow Behavior
Adjust shadow intensity and softness settings to control how defined shadows appear on blocks and terrain. Softer shadows create a more forgiving look, while sharper shadows add realism and contrast.
Test Your Changes
Visit different biomes and times of day to see how your adjustments affect the overall appearance. Night time, sunrise, and underground areas will show the most noticeable differences. If you're unsure about a setting, return to defaults and make small adjustments one at a time.
