Crafting the Bamboo Torch

A Bamboo Torch lights an area like a normal torch but uses bamboo materials. You need one Bamboo Torch from the crafting recipe. Place it on any solid block face or on top of a block to light your base, path, or mine entrance.

Making the Dry Bamboo Torch

If you want the dry variant, craft a Dry Bamboo Torch instead. The Dry Bamboo Torch is a separate item in the registry, so it will not convert from a Bamboo Torch by itself. Keep both types in your inventory if you are building with mixed bamboo and dry bamboo blocks, since the two sets do not swap into each other.

Placement Tips

Bamboo Torches and Dry Bamboo Torches behave as light sources. Use them along fences, inside Bamboo Door entryways, and beside Bamboo Ladders in vertical shafts. Because they are their own blocks, you can place them without needing a full torch recipe chain beyond the bamboo materials you already gathered. Bring a stack when caving so you do not run out mid-descent.
