Crafting the Door

Craft a Bamboo Door from bamboo materials. The Bamboo Door is a full-height door block. Place it in a two-block-tall opening in your wall. Right-click to open and close it. For a dry look, craft a Dry Bamboo Door instead; it is a separate block and will not change into the regular Bamboo Door.

Adding the Trapdoor

Craft a Bamboo Trapdoor and place it over a floor opening, a ceiling hatch, or the top of a ladder shaft. The Bamboo Trapdoor opens and closes by hand. If you are building with dry bamboo, craft a Dry Bamboo Trapdoor so the wood tone matches the Dry Bamboo Door and Dry Bamboo Fence around it.

Combining With Fences and Ladders

Set Bamboo Fence and Bamboo Fence Gate around the entry to guide visitors to the door. Inside, run a Bamboo Ladder down the shaft below the Bamboo Trapdoor. The gate, door, and trapdoor all open by hand, so you can seal the entry without redstone. Keep a spare Bamboo Door and Bamboo Trapdoor in a chest near the entrance for quick repairs.
