Adjust Shader Settings for Your Device

Access Shader Options

Open your pause menu in-game, then navigate to Options > Video Settings > Shaders. You'll see the BalancedLite Shadere.zip shader listed if it's active.

Reduce Quality for Lower-End Devices

Click the shader name to open its configuration menu. Look for toggles or sliders related to:

  • Reflection quality — lower this first if you're experiencing frame drops
  • Lighting updates — reducing frequency helps older devices
  • Water effects — disable or set to minimal if performance suffers

Test Performance

After each adjustment, return to your world and observe frame rates in different areas (caves, open sky, water). The shader is designed to stay close to vanilla speed, so if you're dropping below your normal FPS, reduce reflection quality or disable water reflections entirely.

If your device still struggles, consider using vanilla rendering instead — this shader prioritizes compatibility, but some older tablets may perform better without any shader active.
