Optimize AxoShaders for Higher Frame Rates
Check Current Performance
Note your current FPS in-game (F3 debug screen). Identify which features are most demanding on your hardware.
Reduce Shadow Quality
Lower shadow resolution or disable shadow filtering in shader settings. This is often the most impactful change for frame rate. Shadows will appear slightly blockier but performance improves significantly.
Simplify Foliage Animation
Reduce wave speed and amplitude, or disable waving entirely on distant foliage. This cuts animation calculations, especially in large outdoor areas.
Lower Light Processing
If colored lighting is intensive, reduce the number of light sources processed or lower light radius. This prevents the shader from calculating tinted light for every block in range.
Disable Expensive Effects
Check for toggles for ambient occlusion, bloom, or other post-processing effects. Disabling these can yield noticeable FPS gains on budget hardware.
Test Incrementally
Change one setting at a time and measure FPS impact. This helps you find the sweet spot between visuals and performance without over-optimizing.
Monitor Stability
Ensure your frame rate remains stable and consistent after changes.
