When and Why to Break Down Coins

Sometimes you need smaller coins for purchases or trades. You can convert higher-tier coins back into four lower-tier coins using your crafting table.

Breaking Down Coins

1. Open your crafting table or inventory crafting grid

2. Place one high-tier coin (Gold, Diamond, or Netherite) in the crafting grid

3. The output will show four lower-tier coins of the previous tier

4. Collect your coins

Example Conversions

One Diamond coin breaks down into four Gold coins. One Gold coin breaks down into four Iron coins, and so on. This is useful when you need exact change for a purchase or want to split currency with other players. Breaking down is the reverse of the upgrade process, so you can freely convert between denominations based on your current needs.
