How to Carve and Light Jack o'Lanterns

Carving Pumpkins into Slices

Large Pumpkin Slice is the base carved block. From it you can produce Carved Large Pumpkin Slice. These slices are the foundation for the themed jack o'lantern variants.

The Jack o'Lantern Variants

There are five themed jack o'lanterns, each with a matching Large Slice: Redstone Jack o'Lantern with Large Redstone Jack o'Lantern Slice, Soul Jack o'Lantern with Large Soul Jack o'Lantern Slice, Cupric Jack o'Lantern with Large Cupric Jack o'Lantern Slice, Ender Jack o'Lantern with Large Ender Jack o'Lantern Slice, and the plain Large Jack o'Lantern Slice. Craft each Large Slice into its corresponding jack o'lantern to get the lit, themed light source.

Placing and Using Them

Place any jack o'Lantern variant as a light source. The Redstone variant pairs with redstone builds, the Soul variant fits soul-themed areas, the Cupric variant matches copper palettes, and the Ender variant suits end-themed builds. Each one also has a Large Slice form you can place as a decorative carved block before converting it.

Decorating Around Your Pumpkins

Pair jack o'Lanterns with Maple Leaf Carpet in red, orange, and yellow, Pile of Maple Leaves in all four colors, and Potted Maple Saplings to build an autumn scene. Autumn Crocus and Potted Autumn Crocus add small floral accents. Banner Pattern is available if you want to mark the area with a custom banner.
