Optimize Performance on Low-End Hardware
Check Your Current Frame Rate
Enable the FPS counter in your game settings to establish a baseline. Aurora Enhanced is designed to run smoothly on older computers, but optimization depends on your other settings.
Reduce Conflicting Graphics Settings
Lower these vanilla options to improve performance:
- Render distance (start at 8-12 chunks)
- Graphics mode (set to Fast)
- Particles (reduce to minimal)
- Cloud rendering (disable if needed)
Adjust Shader-Specific Options
Within Aurora Enhanced settings, look for performance-related toggles such as shadow quality or ambient occlusion intensity. Disabling or reducing these can significantly improve frame rates without removing the shader's core filmic color enhancement.
Monitor Results
After each change, play for a few minutes and check your FPS. The goal is finding the sweet spot where the shader's warm torchlight and rich sunset colors remain visible while maintaining playable performance on your system.
