Optimize Performance on Low-End Hardware
Reduce Shadow Quality
AuraBound Shaders is designed for budget systems, but you can push performance further. In shader settings, look for shadow resolution or shadow distance options. Lowering these reduces GPU load while maintaining the soft shadow aesthetic.
Disable Advanced Effects Selectively
Check for toggles for ambient occlusion, bloom, or other post-processing effects. Disabling these individually helps you find the balance between visual quality and frame rate without losing the core lighting improvements.
Lower Render Distance if Needed
While not a shader setting, reducing your render distance in video settings works alongside AuraBound to keep frames stable. Start at 8-12 chunks and increase gradually until you notice stuttering.
Monitor Frame Rate
Use F3 debug screen to watch your FPS while exploring. If you dip below your target (typically 60 FPS), return to shader settings and reduce one effect at a time rather than disabling everything.
Test in Demanding Areas
Visit areas with many light sources—villages, player bases with torches—to confirm performance holds steady under real gameplay conditions.
