Create a Player-Only Security Gate with Iron Sensors

Detecting Only Players

Iron sensors are designed specifically to detect players and ignore all other entities. This makes them perfect for base entrances and secured areas.

Installation Steps

1. Place an iron sensor at your gate entrance, facing inward toward where players will pass

2. Right-click with an empty hand multiple times to set the detection range to cover your doorway width

3. Use a redstone torch to preview the detection zone—it should form a line across your entrance

4. Run redstone wire from the sensor to your door mechanism (piston doors, iron doors with redstone locks, or laser bridges)

5. Test by walking through the detection zone; the sensor should activate your door

Advanced Setup

For added security, combine multiple iron sensors at different heights to prevent players from jumping or crouching past detection. You can also wire the sensor output to an alarm box for audio alerts when someone approaches. If you want to exclude specific players, consider using additional logic torches or flip-flop torches to create more complex access control systems.
