Create Glowing Armor Pieces That Shine in Darkness

Design Glow Layers in Blockbench

In Blockbench, create separate texture layers for the parts of your armor that should glow. These are typically bright, emissive colors—glowing eyes, magical runes, or luminous trim. Export your model with these layers clearly separated or marked.

Prepare Emissive Textures

Create bright, high-contrast texture files for your glowing parts. These should be pure white or very bright colors in the areas you want to emit light. Place them in your mod's texture folder alongside your regular armor textures.

Configure Glow in the Mod

In your armor item's configuration or code, specify which texture layers should use the emissive/glow effect. The Armor Model API Mod will render these layers as self-illuminated, making them visible even in complete darkness.

Optional: Shader Bloom

If you're using a shader pack with bloom support, glowing armor pieces will automatically create a radiant glow effect around the player. No additional configuration needed—the mod integrates with shader bloom automatically.
