Crafting Lamps and Lanterns for Interior Lighting

Lamp Options

Craft Abyssaline Lamp and Calcite Lamp. Both are full-block light sources that blend into their respective palettes. Use Abyssaline Lamp inside Abyssaline builds and Calcite Lamp inside Calcite builds.

Lantern Options

Craft Algal Lantern and Algal Cage Lantern. Algal Lantern is a compact fixture; Algal Cage Lantern is an open-frame hanging fixture. Both match Algal Bricks and Algal Brick Slab.

Placing Lamps

Set Lamps into floors or ceilings where a torch would break the texture. Because they are full blocks, they tile cleanly with Abyssaline Tiles or Calcite Bricks. Use them in grids, such as one Lamp every four blocks, to light a room evenly.

Placing Lanterns

Hang Algal Cage Lantern from a ceiling block, or set Algal Lantern on a floor or wall. Use them along corridors and above doorways. In Algal builds, replace torches entirely with these two fixtures.

Mixing Light Sources

Combine Abyssaline Lamp or Calcite Lamp for ambient fill with Algal Lantern or Algal Cage Lantern for accents. Keep the Lamp grid regular and the Lantern placement irregular so the eye reads the Lanterns as features.
