From Algal Blend to Bricks

Craft Algal Blend first, then combine it into Algal Brick. From Algal Brick, craft Algal Bricks in the crafting grid. These are the parent blocks for the full Algal set.

Cutting the Shapes

Take Algal Bricks to a stonecutter for Algal Brick Slab, Algal Brick Vertical Slab, Algal Brick Stairs, and Algal Brick Wall. Use Vertical Slabs on inside and outside corners where a normal slab leaves a gap.

Chiseled and Cracked Variants

Craft Chiseled Algal Bricks from Algal Bricks for a carved face. Craft Cracked Algal Bricks by smelting Algal Bricks in a furnace. Mix Chiseled and Cracked blocks into walls to suggest age.

Lighting

Craft Algal Lantern and Algal Cage Lantern. Place Algal Lantern as a compact light source on floors and ceilings. Place Algal Cage Lantern where you want a hanging fixture with an open frame. Both fit the Algal palette, so use them instead of torches inside Algal builds.

Layout Tip

Run Algal Bricks as the main wall, Algal Brick Slab as a wainscot, and Algal Brick Wall as a parapet. Hang Algal Cage Lanterns along the parapet and set Algal Lanterns into the floor every few blocks.
