Collecting Sap with the Treetap and Sap Distillery

Placing the Treetap

Attach the Treetap to a tree trunk. Once mounted, it slowly collects Sap Ball from the tree it is attached to. Check the Treetap periodically and take the Sap Ball out when it has gathered some. You will need a steady supply of Sap Ball before the next step is worth doing.

Running the Sap Distillery

Place the Sap Distillery block and open it. Feed Sap Ball into the distillery. The distillery processes the Sap Ball and produces Turpentine as its output. Pull the Turpentine out of the output slot and store it.

What Turpentine Is For

Turpentine is a crafting ingredient used in the mod's shaped recipes. Keep a stack on hand rather than converting everything at once, since you will want Sap Ball available for other recipes too. If a recipe calls for Turpentine, run the required number of Sap Ball through the distillery first, then craft.

A simple loop works well: mount several Treetaps on nearby trees, empty them on a route, and dump the Sap Ball into the Sap Distillery in batches. That keeps Turpentine flowing without constant babysitting of a single tap.
