Optimize Performance on Low-End Hardware
Identify Performance Bottlenecks
Run the game and monitor your frame rate, especially in visually complex areas like forests or near water. Open the shader menu to see which features consume the most resources.
Reduce Demanding Features
Start by lowering these settings:
- Shadow distance: Reduce significantly; closer shadows still look good and save performance.
- Anti-aliasing quality: Lower the smoothing level if edges still look acceptable.
- Cloud detail: Simpler cloud rendering uses less GPU power.
- Water wave complexity: Disable or minimize ripple effects.
Test and Balance
After each adjustment, play for several minutes in different biomes. The shader is optimized for budget systems, so even minimal settings should maintain playability. If frame rate remains inconsistent, try disabling shadows temporarily to isolate the issue. Once you find stable settings, you can gradually re-enable features one at a time to find your system's sweet spot between visuals and performance.
