Opening Frozen Chests and Using Pouches

Frozen Chest and Frozen Key

Frozen Chest is a block found in the world. To open one you need a Frozen Key. Keys come from loot and from defeating hostile mobs in the mod's biomes. Once you have a key, interact with the Frozen Chest to receive its contents.

What is inside

Frozen Chests can yield Pirate Pouch, Treasure Pouch, Dead Sea Scroll, Logbook, Cracked Record, Music Disc, Ship Graveyard Echo, and Collectible Painting. Some of these are placeable blocks — Collectible Painting, Pirate Pouch, and Treasure Pouch can all be placed in the world as decorative or storage blocks.

Using the pouches

Pirate Pouch and Treasure Pouch are both blocks and loot containers. Place them or open them to get randomized rewards. Dead Sea Scroll and Logbook are readable items that give context on the mod's lore and locations. Cracked Record and Music Disc are playable in a jukebox. Ship Graveyard Echo is a navigation or lore item — combine it with Echo Compass when searching for the next site.

Practical loop

1. Find a Frozen Chest.

2. Get a Frozen Key.

3. Open the chest, take the pouch.

4. Open the pouch for materials.

5. Use Echo Compass to find the next Frozen Chest.
