How to Open Frozen Chests and Use Frozen Keys

Finding Frozen Chests

Frozen Chests are blocks you encounter in Aquamirae structures. They cannot be opened by hand — you need a Frozen Key. Search the surrounding area for the key before trying to open the chest. Frozen Keys are the only item that unlocks a Frozen Chest.

Using the Key

Hold a Frozen Key and interact with the Frozen Chest to open it. Once opened, the chest yields its contents. Stock up on Frozen Keys whenever you find them, since each chest consumes one key. If you find a chest without a key, mark the location and return once you have one.

Frozen Chests are part of the broader Aquamirae loot progression. Other containers you may find include Pirate Pouch and Treasure Pouch, which are blocks you can open for loot. The Echo Compass and Ship Graveyard Echo help you navigate toward points of interest. The Logbook and Dead Sea Scroll are written items that give context about the area.
