Cooking Spinefish and Preparing Sea Food

Catching and cooking Spinefish

Spinefish spawn from the Spinefish Spawn Egg or naturally in the mod's waters. Killing one drops Raw Spinefish. Cook it three ways: on a campfire (campfire_cooking), in a furnace (smelting), or in a smoker (smoking). All three produce Cooked Spinefish. The smoker is fastest; the campfire is the most portable.

Full meal recipes

Beyond Cooked Spinefish, the mod provides several prepared dishes:

  • Sea Stew — a hearty meal for long expeditions.
  • Sea Casserole — a higher-tier food item.
  • Poseidon Breakfast — a strong meal suited to boss fights.

These use aquatic ingredients such as Raw Spinefish, Cooked Spinefish, Fin, and Jellyfish Jelly. Check the crafting table for the exact shaped recipes.

Why it matters

Boss encounters like Captain Cornelia and Maze Mother are long. Bring a stack of Cooked Spinefish for quick healing and one or two Poseidon Breakfast or Sea Casserole for the fight itself. Jellyfish Jelly doubles as a crafting ingredient, so do not cook all of it. Fin is used in recipes too — save a few. If you are diving, pair your food with Oxygen Tank and Oxyhelium so hunger and breath are both covered.
