Building a Worm Farm

Worms come from the Worm Farm block. Craft and place a Worm Farm, then keep it stocked so it produces bait over time. The farm is the renewable source of Leech, which is the bait item used on your rig. Check the farm regularly and collect the bait that accumulates inside.

Using Bait While Fishing

Bait is applied to your rig before casting. With a Fishing Line, Bobber, and Hook assembled on your rod, add Leech as bait to improve your catch rate and the quality of what bites. Bait is consumed as you fish, so keep a stack on hand and refill from the Worm Farm between sessions.

Other Items You Pull Up

Fishing also yields items that support the bait loop and your crafting:

• Leech — the bait item produced by the Worm Farm.
• Algae — a plant item pulled from water.
• Driftwood — wood debris used in crafting.
• Fish Bones — bone material from processed fish.
• Message In A Bottle — a container with a reward inside.
• Lockbox and Box — containers holding Neptunium and other loot.

Keeping the Loop Running

Place the Worm Farm near your fishing spot so you can restock bait without travelling. Combine bait with a strong hook such as the Gold Hook or Obsidian Hook, and fish in deep water. Every Leech you spend is replaced by the Worm Farm, so the loop is sustainable as long as the farm keeps producing.
