How to Set Up Autocrafting with Patterns and CPUs
Patterns and providers
Craft a Blank Pattern, then encode it in a Pattern Provider or ME Interface by placing the blank pattern in the encoding slot and defining the recipe. Encoded patterns go into ME Pattern Provider blocks attached to the machines that perform the work.
Place ME Interface where you want the network to insert or extract items. A Pattern Provider pushes ingredients into the adjacent machine and pulls results back into the network.
Crafting CPU
Build a Crafting Unit cluster: place one or more Crafting Unit blocks, add a Crafting Monitor to view jobs, and add Crafting Co-Processing Unit blocks to run more patterns in parallel. Attach 1k Crafting Storage, 4k Crafting Storage, 16k Crafting Storage, 64k Crafting Storage, or 256k Crafting Storage to hold the job's item list. The CPU must touch the network via cable.
Request a craft from any ME Interface or terminal. The CPU pulls ingredients from ME Item Storage Cell storage, sends them through Pattern Providers, and returns outputs. Use Acceleration Card and Capacity Card in interfaces and providers to speed transfers and hold more patterns. Use Advanced Card where a device supports richer filtering. If a job stalls, check that every provider has power, a valid pattern, and a machine that can accept the inputs.
