How to Get and Use a Bear Claw Paxel

Getting the Bear Claw

Kill a Brown Bear to obtain a Bear Claw. Brown Bears are spawned using the Spawn Brown Bear item. Once you have a Bear Claw, you can craft it into a Bear Claw Paxel using a shaped crafting recipe. The Bear Claw Paxel combines the functions of multiple tools, so you only need to carry one item for chopping, digging, and combat.

Using the Paxel

Equip the Bear Claw Paxel in your main hand. Use it like a normal tool: left-click blocks to break them, left-click mobs to attack. Because it is a paxel, it works on wood, dirt, stone, and other common materials without switching items. Repair it the same way you would repair other tools if it becomes damaged. Keep a spare Bear Claw in your inventory so you can craft a replacement Paxel if yours breaks during a long trip. The Paxel is especially useful when exploring areas where you expect to fight Wild Dogs, Rats, or Piranhas while also gathering resources.
