Getting Wild Dog Pelts

Kill Wild Dogs to obtain Wild Dog Pelts. Wild Dogs are spawned with the Spawn Wild Dog item. Each Wild Dog drops at least one Wild Dog Pelt. Collect several pelts before you start crafting, because the boots recipe is shaped and requires more than one pelt.

Crafting the Boots

Open a crafting table and arrange your Wild Dog Pelts in the boot pattern. The exact grid uses pelts in the shape of boots. Once crafted, equip the Wild Dog Pelt Boots in your boots slot. They provide armor protection for your feet.

If you need more pelts, spawn additional Wild Dogs and kill them. Keep extra Wild Dog Pelts in a chest near your crafting table so you can make a new pair if your boots wear out. Wild Dog Pelt Boots are a good early armor piece when you are hunting Brown Bears, Rats, and Piranhas and want some protection without spending iron.
