Cooking Raw Bear, Rat, and Piranha Meat

Cooking Methods

Raw Bear Meat, Raw Rat Meat, and Raw Piranha Steak can all be cooked. You have three options: campfire cooking, smelting in a furnace, and smoking in a smoker. Each method produces the cooked version of the same item: Cooked Bear Meat, Cooked Rat Meat, and Cooked Piranha Steak.

Step by Step

For a campfire, place the campfire and use the raw meat on it. For a furnace, put fuel in the bottom slot and the raw meat in the top slot. For a smoker, do the same but expect faster cooking. Smelting and smoking both work, so use whichever block you already have placed.

Cooked meat restores more hunger than raw meat and is safer to eat. Cook every Raw Bear Meat, Raw Rat Meat, and Raw Piranha Steak you collect before eating. If you have a large stack, use a smoker to process it quickly. Store cooked meat in a chest so it does not spoil your inventory space while you gather more Raw Bear Meat from Brown Bears or Raw Rat Meat from Rats.
