Using Rawhide and Fossil to Unlock Every Bike

Why These Two Items Matter

Rawhide and Fossil are the backbone of the Animal Bikes Mod. They appear across the shaped crafting recipes that produce all 29 bike items. If you can farm these two consistently, you can eventually craft the entire set.

Farming and Stockpiling

Focus your early play on collecting Rawhide and Fossil in bulk. Treat them as the currency of bike crafting: every new bike you want costs some of each plus a themed ingredient.

Keep a dedicated chest for Rawhide and a second for Fossil so you always know your stock. Before starting a new bike, check both counts first.

Mapping Bikes to Ingredients

Each bike pairs the base materials with something tied to its mob:

  • Passive bikes (Pig Bike, Cow Bike, Sheep Bike, Chicken Bike, Bunny Bike, Ocelot Bike, Wolf Bike, Polar Bear Bike, Pony Bike, Reindeer Bike) use common animal materials.
  • Hostile bikes (Creeper Bike, Spider Bike, Slime Bike, Silverfish Bike, Ender Bike) use mob drops.
  • Boss bikes (Wither Bike, Dragon Bike, Ghast Bike) use rare components.
  • Special bikes (Notch Bike, Irongolem Bike, Snowgolem Bike, Squid Bike, Bat Bike, Flower Bike, Chocobo Bike, Dino Bike, Chinese Dragon Bike) each have their own themed ingredient.
