Organizing Your Companions

Once you've tamed several prehistoric beasts, managing them becomes important. Use the stick command tool to keep pets organized—set some to Follow Mode while others Stay in designated locations around your base or outposts.

Strategic Placement

Position Cryossaurus or Megacat near your base entrance as guards. Leave Pterohusher in open areas where it can patrol the skies. Station Floraceratops in gardens or natural areas where it fits the landscape. Keep PrimalSquid in a deep water tank or ocean chamber if you've created one.

Stick Control Tips

Always carry a wooden stick when managing pets. Right-click each creature individually to toggle its mode. If a pet is in Follow Mode and you want it to stay, switch it to Stay Mode before moving away. This prevents accidental abandonment. You can have multiple pets following you simultaneously, but managing them is easier when some are stationed at key locations. Return to retrieve pets by finding them where you left them and switching them back to Follow Mode.
