Enhance Shadow Detail Under Trees and Structures
Locate Shadow Settings
Open the shader configuration menu and find the Shadows or Lighting section. This controls how dark and detailed shadows appear beneath trees, buildings, and terrain features.
Adjust Shadow Distance and Softness
Look for options labeled shadow distance, shadow radius, or shadow softness. Increasing shadow distance extends shadows further from their source. Adjusting softness creates smoother transitions between lit and shadowed areas—useful for a more stylized look.
Balance Darkness and Visibility
Too-dark shadows can make caves and tree interiors unreadable. Too-light shadows flatten the landscape. Test by standing under a tree canopy or near a structure. Shadows should be visible but not so dark that you lose detail in shaded areas.
Optimize for Your Preference
If you prefer dramatic fantasy aesthetics, increase shadow intensity. For a brighter, more playable environment, reduce it. Experiment with different combinations of distance and softness until the balance feels right for your playstyle.
