Prevent Salt Ore from Overwhelming Your Caves

Why Salt Generates So Much

The Bewitchment mod's salt ore generates at high rates by default, often filling caves and making mining tedious. This data pack reduces salt generation significantly, restoring cave exploration to be more about other ores and resources.

What Changes

Once installed, salt ore will appear much less frequently when you mine through stone and deepslate. You'll still find salt deposits—they're useful for crafting and rituals—but they won't dominate your underground.

How to Verify It's Working

After installing the data pack, create a new world or explore ungenerated chunks. Mine through caves at various depths. You should notice salt ore appearing occasionally rather than in dense clusters. If you're still seeing excessive salt, check that the data pack is enabled in your world settings (look for it in the active data packs list).

Finding Salt When You Need It

Salt is still obtainable—just rarer. Search near water sources or use strip mining techniques. The reduced spawn rate makes salt slightly more valuable as a crafting ingredient, encouraging you to plan your rituals carefully.
