Adjust Shader Intensity and Visual Quality
Access Shader Settings
Open the shader configuration menu while in-game by pressing the designated shader menu key (typically found in your controls settings). This opens the Alma Shaders options panel where you can fine-tune visual effects to match your hardware and preferences.
Customize Key Visual Elements
Within the settings menu, you'll find sliders and toggles for:
- Shadow Quality: Reduce shadow detail if you experience performance drops, or increase for more realistic depth
- Lighting Intensity: Adjust how bright the vibrant lighting appears across biomes
- Water Reflection Detail: Control the clarity and complexity of water surface reflections
- Cloud and Sky Effects: Modify cinematic cloud density and sunbeam intensity
- Ambient Occlusion: Toggle or adjust how shadows appear in crevices and corners
Apply and Test
After adjusting settings, apply the changes and observe how your world looks. Different biomes respond differently to these adjustments—test in varied environments like forests, deserts, and water areas to ensure the balance feels right. You can always return to the menu and make further refinements without restarting your game.
