Using the Animal Dictionary to Track Mobs

Opening the Dictionary

The Animal Dictionary is the mod's reference item. Hold it and use it to open an index of the mobs you have encountered. It records entries as you meet new creatures.

Reading Entries

Each entry describes a mob and hints at what it drops or how it behaves. Use it to figure out which mob gives a material you need — for example, which creature yields Bison Fur, Antler Headdress components, or Shark Tooth Arrow materials.

Planning Hunts

Before heading out, open the dictionary and note the mobs whose drops you are missing. Cross-reference with your crafting goals: if you want Crocodile Chestplate, check what the crocodile entry says. If you want Tarantula Hawk Elytra, check the tarantula hawk entry.

Filling It Out

Carry the dictionary whenever you explore. New mobs you meet add entries automatically. Keep it in your hotbar so you do not forget it, and check it after every trip to see what new pages unlocked.
