Mining Ore Blocks and Salvaging Gear

Ore Block Tiers

Ore blocks come in five rarities:

• Common Ore Block
• Uncommon Ore Block
• Rare Ore Block
• Epic Ore Block
• Legendary Ore Block

Higher rarity blocks yield better materials. Mine them with appropriate tools and bring them back to your base for processing.

Salvaging Station

Place a Salvaging Station and open it. Feed it unwanted gear — armor pieces, weapons, or duplicate drops — to break them down into crafting materials. Salvaging is the main way to recycle low-tier Armor/Cloth/..., Armor/Leather/..., and Armor/Plate/... pieces you no longer need.

Combining With Backpack Auto-Salvage

Install Backpack/Upgrade/Auto Sal0, Backpack/Upgrade/Auto Sal1, or Backpack/Upgrade/Auto Sal2 in your Backpack/Normal. These modules automatically salvage qualifying drops as you pick them up, so you spend less time at the Salvaging Station. Use Backpack/Upgrade/Save1 to prevent valuable items from being auto-salvaged.

Loot Crates

Loot Crate blocks contain randomized rewards. Open them at your base and sort the contents. Feed junk into the Salvaging Station and store useful materials in a Crate.

Practical Loop

1. Mine ore blocks at each rarity tier.

2. Return to base and smelt or process the ore.

3. Salvage duplicate gear at the Salvaging Station.

4. Install auto-salvage modules to streamline future runs.

5. Store refined materials in a Crate near your crafting stations.
