Enhance Nether Atmosphere and Lighting
Access Nether-Specific Settings
Open the Iris shader menu and navigate to Afterimage Shaders options. Look for dimension-specific or Nether settings. These controls let you adjust how the shader renders the Nether's unique lighting and mood independently from the Overworld.
Adjust Ambient Darkness and Glow
The Nether shader rework uses dark tones and moody ambient light by default. You can increase or decrease the ambient light level to make the dimension brighter or more oppressive. Adjust the glow intensity of lava and light sources—stronger glow makes them stand out more against the darkness.
Customize Color Tones
Modify the red, orange, or purple tones that dominate the Nether's appearance. Some sliders control how much the shader emphasizes warm colors versus cooler shadows. Experiment with these to match your preferred Nether aesthetic, whether you want it more hellish and red or mysterious and dark.
