Getting the Best Visual Quality from Realistic Textures
Optimize Your Graphics Settings
Aeternum Realism's 32x textures shine brightest with proper in-game settings. Open your Video Settings and enable:
- Mipmaps: Set to 4 or higher to prevent texture flickering at distance
- Anisotropic Filtering: Enable if your GPU supports it for sharper distant details
- Render Distance: Keep at 12+ chunks to appreciate the landscape detail work
- Graphics Mode: Use Fancy graphics to see animated foliage and detailed mob variations
Pair with Lighting Mods (Optional)
The pack works standalone, but benefits from enhanced lighting. If you use community animation packs or shader mods, the pack includes optional setup guidance—check your mod folder for compatibility notes.
Adjust Brightness Carefully
The realistic textures include natural color grading. Avoid maxing brightness; instead, use your monitor's settings or in-game brightness slider set to default or slightly above. This preserves the intentional shading that makes terrain and structures look three-dimensional.
Start a new world or revisit old chunks to see the full effect—previously generated terrain won't update automatically.
