Reduce Temporal Anti-Aliasing Ghosting and Flickering

Understanding TAA Artifacts

Temporal anti-aliasing smooths jagged edges by blending frames over time. However, this can sometimes cause ghosting (trailing outlines) or flickering on fast-moving objects like leaves in wind or when you turn quickly.

Adjusting TAA Settings

Access shader options and locate the temporal anti-aliasing section. Look for a TAA strength or intensity slider. Reducing this value decreases ghosting but may leave some jagged edges. Increase it for smoother visuals if ghosting isn't bothersome.

If available, check for a "TAA jitter" or "sample count" option. Lower values reduce ghosting but may increase flickering; higher values smooth movement but intensify trailing.

Finding Your Balance

Test changes in areas with moving foliage or while turning your camera rapidly. The goal is smooth edges without noticeable ghosting. Different hardware handles TAA differently, so your optimal setting may differ from others.

Save your preferred configuration once you've found a comfortable balance between smoothness and artifact visibility.
