Optimize Night Vision and Low-Light Visibility
Adjusting Night Brightness
Access shader settings and locate the night brightness or ambient light slider. This controls how much light remains visible during nighttime, affecting exploration difficulty and atmosphere.
Increase this value if you want to explore caves and night terrain without relying on torches. Decrease it for a darker, more challenging experience that emphasizes your light sources.
Fine-Tuning Sky Lighting
Look for sky light or moonlight intensity settings. These control how much natural illumination the moon and stars provide. Higher values make moonlit nights brighter and easier to navigate; lower values create deeper darkness.
If available, adjust color temperature or sky color saturation to change how cool or warm nighttime lighting appears.
Testing Your Configuration
Exit to a dark area—a cave, deep forest, or nighttime terrain—and observe visibility. You should be able to see terrain features without excessive strain, but not so brightly that night feels like day.
Return to settings and fine-tune until exploration feels balanced. Remember that torches and other light sources should remain visually important and useful, not overshadowed by ambient brightness.
