How to Use the Handbook and Shadow Chest

The Handbook

The Handbook is the mod's in-game guide item. Craft or obtain it, then hold it and use it to open the guide interface. It lists the mod's items, blocks, and recipes so you do not have to leave the game to look things up. Keep it in your hotbar while learning the mod.

The Shadow Chest

The Shadow Chest is a storage block added by the mod. Place it like a normal chest and use it to store items. It is useful for keeping mod-specific materials — Orc Skin, Ender Whale Skin, Gilded Netherite Fragment, Mammoth Fur, Rhino Leather, Iguana Hide — organized in one place.

Setting Up a Mod Storage Room

1. Craft a Shadow Chest and place it against a wall.

2. Put a second Shadow Chest beside it for a double inventory.

3. Label nearby chests by category: mob drops, cooking ingredients, smithing materials, boss loot.

4. Keep your Handbook on a lectern or in an item frame next to the chests so it is always within reach.

Why This Matters

AdventureZ adds dozens of items. Without a storage system you will lose track of which drops feed which recipe. A Shadow Chest wall plus the Handbook turns a cluttered inventory into a working base.
